Wildeberg Farm can be found on a slice of untamed mountain above the town of Franschhoek. Wildeberg, ‘wild mountain’, is so named due to the wild nature of the place. Formally an equestrian farm, the land had never been planted under vine before. The Wildeberg Red 2022 is a red wine blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Franc from two sites in Franschhoek. The nose of fresh crushed raspberries veiled with white and black pepper is hypnotic and sensual, especially for the climate. The palate has breadth and natural juiciness which is complimented by cranberry and peppercorn flavours.
