Villiera Wines is one of Stellenbosch’s longstanding family-owned wine estates, recognised for its environmentally conscious farming and approachable, consistent winemaking. Situated in Koelenhof, just outside Stellenbosch, the vineyards benefit from cooling Atlantic Ocean influences that help preserve freshness and varietal clarity in the grapes.
The Down To Earth range reflects Villiera’s philosophy of producing honest, accessible wines with genuine regional character. Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested early to mid-season to retain natural acidity and bright aromatics, with cool fermentation in stainless steel preserving freshness and purity of fruit. Minimal intervention and restrained use of additives also make the wine suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Pale straw with bright green reflections and youthful clarity.
Nose:
Fresh aromas of gooseberry, passion fruit and grapefruit lead the nose, followed by hints of lime zest, green fig and cut herbs.
Palate:
Light- to medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a lively fruit-driven palate. Flavours of tropical fruit, citrus and green apple are balanced by clean freshness and a subtle herbal edge. Although essentially dry, the wine carries a gentle impression of sweetness that softens the acidity and keeps the style approachable and easy drinking.
Finish:
Clean and refreshing, finishing with lingering citrus peel, gooseberry and a delicate grassy note.
