This 13-year-old release is part of Three Ships’ acclaimed Master’s Collection, crafted by Master Distiller Andy Watts. It begins with copper-pot distilled malt spirit matured for eight years in American oak barrels, before an extended five-year finishing period in seasoned Cape Ruby wine casks - a uniquely South African twist that imbues the whisky with layers of fruit-inspired complexity and warmth. It’s bottled non-chill filtered and at natural colour to retain character and richness.
Colour: Deep ruby-gold and auburn hues reflect the influence of the Ruby cask finish.
Nose: Sweet and nutty with gentle smoke weaving through notes of old leather, subtle tobacco and red berries.
Palate: Full and rich, offering luscious red berry fruit, honeyed toffee and Christmas fruitcake, balanced by soft smoke and warm spice.
Finish: Exceptionally smooth and lingering, with warmth, gentle peat and hints of butterscotch as the final impression.
