Spioenkop Wines is a farm and winery in South Africa's Elgin Valley, known for creating terroir-driven, award-winning wines. Established in 2008 by winemaker and viticulturist Koen Roose, the estate is named after the hill where the Battle of Spioenkop occurred, with a range also named ‘1900’ in honour of the battle's year. The Spioenkop 1900 Chardonnay 2022 is a cool-climate, barrel-fermented white wine with a balanced profile of ripe stone fruit and citrus, along with nutty, savoury notes from its time in oak.
