Rhino Run Chenin Blanc 2025
Chenin Blanc
Description
Rhino Run is a South African wine project anchored in Robertson and the broader Western Cape, crafted in partnership with winemakers at Van Loveren to celebrate and support rhino conservation while making approachable, fruit-driven wine. The Chenin Blanc bottling is named after the white rhino, reflecting the range’s ethos of both expression and purpose: every bottle contributes to anti-poaching efforts and conservation initiatives.
The vineyards supplying the 2025 Chenin Blanc come from a selection of meso-climates across the Western Cape, from cooler exposed hills to warmer, sheltered valleys. A mix of soils - including granite, sandstone and sandy types - lends structure and depth to the fruit. Grapes are harvested early to retain natural acidity, and partial barrel fermentation adds a touch of texture and complexity without overwhelming the wine’s fresh character.
Colour:
Pale straw with gentle green highlights in the glass, inviting and fresh.
Nose:
Bright aromatics of freshly picked citrus - lemon and lime zest - mingle with stone fruit hints like ripe peach and nectarine, underscored by subtle tropical notes.
Palate:
The palate is medium-bodied and finely textured. Tangy citrus and orchard fruit are supported by a creamy orchard fruit core from partial barrel ferment, giving the wine an appealing mouthfeel while maintaining crisp, dry balance.
Finish:
Clean and refreshing with a focused, zesty lemon note lingering, leaving a crisp impression that makes the next sip easy.

Rhino Run Chenin Blanc 2025
- Food Pairing : Rhino Run Chenin Blanc 2025’s fresh acidity, crisp citrus drive and lightly textured palate make it a versatile match around the table. Pair it with herb-steamed mussels or oysters with a squeeze of lemon — the wine’s bright fruit accentuates shellfish sweetness. For something heartier, grilled chicken with citrus and garden herbs complements the wine’s orchard fruit and subtle creaminess. A creamy goat’s cheese tart or a fresh summer salad with peach and basil also brings out the wine’s aromatic fruit without overpowering its refreshing finish.
