Nitida Wine Estate is a respected family-run producer in the Durbanville Wine Valley, just outside Cape Town. The region is known for cooling Atlantic breezes and elevated vineyards, creating slower ripening conditions that help preserve freshness, perfume and natural balance in the fruit. Nitida has earned a reputation for meticulous vineyard work and thoughtful cellar practices, combining modern precision with a hands-on approach. Calligraphy reflects this philosophy well, bringing together Bordeaux varieties in a blend that balances structure, fragrance and elegance. Colour: Deep ruby red with a youthful garnet edge. Nose: Red cherry, blackcurrant and ripe plum aromas lead, followed by green pepper, olive tapenade, cedar, warm cinnamon and subtle oak spice. Palate: Medium- to full-bodied with a polished, silky texture. Red and dark berry fruit form the core, while Cabernet Franc brings lift and savoury complexity. Fine tannins provide shape without heaviness, and the acidity keeps the wine bright and composed. Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering red fruit, spice and earthy savoury notes.
