Marianne Wine Estate lies on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg mountain between Stellenbosch and Paarl, one of South Africa's most respected wine-growing areas. The estate was established by Bordeaux wine producer Christian Dauriac, bringing together French winemaking heritage and the distinctive character of the Cape Winelands. The vineyards benefit from decomposed granite soils, warm summer days and cooling mountain influences, creating ideal conditions for producing structured, age-worthy red wines. Marianne's philosophy centres on expressing terroir through careful vineyard management, hand-harvesting and thoughtful oak maturation, resulting in wines that combine power, elegance and a strong sense of place.

Colour: Deep ruby red with an opaque core and youthful garnet highlights.
Nose: Complex aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry and ripe plum lead the way, followed by notes of cracked black pepper, violets, cigar box, cedar and subtle oak spice. Floral undertones add lift and elegance.
Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, with layers of dark berry fruit supported by fine, polished tannins. The Merlot contributes generosity and texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and freshness. Shiraz adds spice and savoury complexity. The wine remains poised and balanced despite its richness.
Finish: Long and persistent, finishing with dark fruit, spice, cocoa and lingering savoury notes supported by refined tannins.
