L'Avenir Horizon Rosé de Pinotage 2024

L'Avenir Wine Estate lies in the heart of Stellenbosch, where cooling maritime influences and decomposed granite soils help shape wines with freshness and definition. Although the estate itself was formally established in 1992, vineyards on the property date back to the earliest days of Stellenbosch winemaking, giving L'Avenir both historical depth and a distinctly modern outlook.

Known particularly for its work with Pinotage, the estate approaches the variety with refinement rather than weight, focusing on purity of fruit and balance. The L'Avenir Horizon Rosé de Pinotage 2024 is made from hand-harvested grapes sourced from several vineyard sites across the estate. Gentle pressing and minimal skin contact preserve the wine’s pale colour and bright aromatics, resulting in a rosé that feels crisp, dry and quietly expressive rather than overtly fruity.

Pale sunset pink with delicate coral highlights and a bright, clear appearance.

Nose:
Fresh strawberries, raspberries and pomegranate dominate initially, followed by subtle rose petal and grapefruit aromas with a faint citrus lift.

Palate:
Light-bodied and refreshing, the palate shows crisp acidity alongside clean red berry fruit. Flavours of watermelon, strawberry and ruby grapefruit are supported by a dry, finely textured structure that keeps the wine focused and easy to enjoy.

Finish:
Clean and gently savoury, with lingering notes of cranberry, citrus peel and soft floral spice.
