Jackson Family Wines entered South Africa in 2014, adding the country to a global collection of wine regions spanning both hemispheres. For this wine, the focus is Shiraz - a variety particularly well suited to South Africa's warmer winegrowing conditions. The 2024 vintage offers an opportunity to explore a contemporary South African interpretation of the variety, where ripe dark fruit can be balanced by spice, savoury character and freshness.
Colour: Deep ruby-red with youthful purple tones.
Nose: Dark berries and ripe plum lead the nose, followed by blackberry, black cherry and subtle peppery spice. A gentle savoury character adds depth without overwhelming the fruit.
Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with ripe blackberry and plum flavours supported by fine, noticeable tannins. There is a pleasing savoury and peppery quality through the mid-palate, while fresh acidity keeps the wine from feeling heavy. The overall style is fruit-driven but structured.
Finish: The finish is smooth and moderately persistent, with dark fruit, pepper and a subtle savoury note lingering on the palate.
