Glencairn Pinotage 2021

Glencairn Wines is produced in the Robertson Valley, a region shaped by warm days, cool nights and the influence of the Breede River. Robertson is particularly known for its limestone-rich soils, which are relatively rare in the Cape and contribute both structure and freshness to the wines produced here.

These soils, combined with abundant sunshine and careful vineyard management, create favourable conditions for Pinotage to develop deep fruit concentration while retaining balance. For Glencairn Pinotage 2021, grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented to emphasise the variety’s signature dark fruit profile. A period of oak maturation adds gentle complexity while allowing the wine’s fruit-driven character to remain central.

Deep ruby with a vibrant purple edge, showing youthful concentration.

Nose:
Ripe plum and blackberry aromas lead, followed by notes of dark cherry, mocha and a hint of toasted oak.

Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with generous flavours of black cherry, plum and dark berry fruit. Soft tannins and balanced acidity create a rounded texture, while subtle oak notes add touches of vanilla and spice.

Finish:
Smooth and lingering, with ripe fruit and a gentle cocoa note.
