Produced by Flagstone Wines and crafted by winemaker Gerhard Swart, Longitude is Flagstone’s distinctive “wayfinder” wine. Its name and label reference Cape Town’s historic Time Ball Tower, which was used by sailors to check their chronometers and calculate longitude. The blend brings together Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure and presence, Shiraz adds spicy, velvety texture, while Malbec brings generous, juicy dark-fruit character. Flagstone’s approach is centred on careful blending to create a wine that is accessible and fruit-driven, yet still offers lingering flavour and gentle tannin.

Colour: Dark, rich ruby red.
Nose: An expressive bouquet of ripe plums and dark berries, with spicy undertones and intriguing hints of crushed cashew nuts and fresh mint.
Palate: Juicy and smooth, with bright flavours of plum and dark berries supported by silky tannins. The Shiraz adds a gentle peppery spice, while the Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and the Malbec contributes richness and ripe fruit.
Finish: Long and inviting, with lingering berry fruit, subtle spice and a hint of chocolate.

  • Food Pairing : This juicy, softly structured red blend is well suited to seasoned Karoo lamb chops on the braai, grilled steak, beef burgers, slow-cooked beef stew and roasted vegetarian dishes such as lentil, tomato and sweet potato lasagne. Its ripe plum and dark-berry flavours complement smoky and savoury foods, while the silky tannins and gentle spice work particularly well with grilled meats, herbs and roasted vegetables.
