Ernst Gouws & Co is a family-owned wine producer based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, with a heritage dating back to 1691. The family’s winemaking philosophy combines a respect for traditional winegrowing with a modern approach to producing approachable, fruit-driven wines. The estate’s vineyards are situated in the Stellenbosch region, where varied soils, mountain influences and a Mediterranean climate contribute to the character of the grapes. Ernst Gouws & Co focuses on carefully selected vineyards and the expression of each grape variety, with Chenin Blanc playing an important role in its range. Colour: Pale straw yellow with a subtle green tinge.
Nose: Aromas of paw-paw, granadilla, yellow and green apple, and ripe peach. Fresh tropical fruit leads the way, with gentle citrus notes adding brightness.
Palate: Light and refreshing, with juicy tropical fruit, peach and apple flavours. Crisp acidity gives the wine energy, while a subtle textural quality adds interest to the mid-palate. The style is fruit-forward and easy to enjoy, without relying on oak for complexity.
Finish: Fresh and lingering, with flavours of cling peach, pineapple and a clean citrus note.
