The name “Douse-The-Glim” references an old Scottish phrase meaning “put out the light,” historically used by soldiers and now also linked to a place name in South Africa, giving this whisky both a rich story and cultural resonance. This 13-year-old expression is crafted in the traditional Scotch way, spending over a decade aging in a single cask before bottling at a classic 43 % ABV. The single cask approach means each bottle expresses a distinct maturation journey - with sweetness, oak influence and citrus lift shaped by its specific wood history.
Appearance:
Warm gold with bright highlights - a sign of measured maturation.
Nose:
Sweet and inviting, leading with honey, vanilla cream and citrus peel, backed by subtle warm oak spice.
Palate:
Softly layered and smooth, with notes of vanilla fudge, spiced oak and dried fruit, lifted by a fresh pop of orange and lemon zest.
Finish:
Medium-long, with lingering honeyed malt, citrus zest and gentle peppery warmth that keeps the dram engaging.
