Tequila Centinela is produced in Arandas in the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco, one of Mexico’s most respected areas for tequila production. Founded in 1904, the distillery remains family-run and is known for combining traditional tequila-making techniques with careful ageing to develop complexity and smoothness.
The Centinela Añejo 3 Year Tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave, harvested after years of growth in the mineral-rich red soils of the Jalisco Highlands. These conditions tend to produce agave with pronounced natural sweetness and depth of flavour.
After distillation, the tequila is matured for three years in oak barrels, significantly longer than the minimum ageing requirement for the añejo category. This extended maturation allows the spirit to develop richer notes of vanilla, spice and caramel while maintaining the distinctive character of agave.
Appearance:
Deep golden amber with warm copper highlights from extended oak ageing.
Nose:
Aromatic notes of cooked agave, vanilla and caramel, layered with hints of toasted oak, baking spice and dried fruit.
Palate:
Smooth and full-bodied with flavours of caramelised agave, butterscotch and gentle oak spice. Subtle notes of vanilla and dark honey add richness while the agave character remains present.
Finish:
Long and warming with lingering vanilla, soft spice and a touch of sweet agave.
