Bruce Jack Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is produced by Bruce Jack Wines and draws on selected vineyards in South Africa's cool southern coastal regions. These maritime-influenced growing conditions help preserve the freshness and aromatic character that are central to Sauvignon Blanc. The Reserve range focuses on carefully selected fruit and winemaking that allows the vineyard character to come through. The grapes are received early in the morning while still cool, then crushed and gently pressed. After settling, only clear juice is fermented, with selected tanks receiving extended lees contact to add texture and complexity. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that combines fresh varietal aromatics with a little more palate depth than a straightforward stainless-steel style.
Colour: Pale straw with green highlights.
Nose: Fig leaf and cape gooseberry lead the aromas, followed by green apple, fresh peach, nectarine and freshly cut grass.
Palate: Lively and refreshing, with green apple, fig and nectarine flavours. Extended lees contact contributes a smooth, rounded texture, while the wine retains the bright acidity expected from Sauvignon Blanc grown in cooler coastal conditions.
