Benguela Cove Estate Chardonnay 2025
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is situated on the shores of the Bot River Lagoon in Walker Bay, one of South Africa's leading cool-climate wine regions. Strong maritime influences from the Atlantic Ocean moderate temperatures throughout the growing season, allowing Chardonnay to ripen gradually while retaining vibrant natural acidity and elegant fruit expression. The estate's diverse shale- and clay-rich soils contribute texture and depth, while careful vineyard management ensures balanced fruit. The Benguela Cove Estate Chardonnay 2025 is crafted in a modern, Burgundian-inspired style, with judicious oak maturation adding complexity without overshadowing the purity of the fruit. The result is a Chardonnay that reflects both its coastal origin and the estate's commitment to expressive, site-driven wines.
Colour: Bright pale gold with brilliant clarity.
Nose: Inviting aromas of white peach, ripe nectarine and citrus blossom are layered with toasted hazelnut, shortbread and a touch of vanilla from carefully integrated oak.
Palate: Medium- to full-bodied with a silky, creamy texture. Ripe stone fruit and lemon zest are complemented by notes of crème brûlée and subtle toasted almonds. Fresh natural acidity provides balance and precision, giving the wine both richness and elegance.
Finish: Long and refined, with lingering citrus, gentle oak spice and a fresh mineral character that reflects its cool-climate origins.
- Food Pairing : The Benguela Cove Estate Chardonnay 2025 is a natural partner for dishes with richness balanced by freshness. Try it with roast chicken, grilled kingklip with lemon butter, creamy mushroom risotto or pork loin with apple sauce, where the wine's vibrant acidity cuts through richness while its creamy texture complements the food. It is equally enjoyable with mature Brie or Camembert, making it a versatile choice for both relaxed entertaining and elegant dinners.
