Avante Cape Brandy represents a modern expression of South Africa’s historic potstill brandy tradition - a spirit defined by double potstill distillation and oak maturation in barrels under 340 L, following the strict Cape Brandy classification system. The Avante project was launched with the involvement of 15 international rugby figures, uniting passion and craft to celebrate local distilling heritage. The VS expression is crafted from carefully double-distilled potstill components aged for a minimum of three years in oak, giving a fruit-forward yet accessible character that honours both terroir and tradition.
Appearance: Rich golden amber in the glass, with inviting depth typical of matured potstill brandy.
Nose: Aromas lean into dried fruit and gentle orchard sweetness, subtle caramel and toffee notes from oak maturation, with light citrus peel and warm spice adding nuance.
Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied on the palate, with fruit-driven flavours of apricot and raisin balanced by oak-induced vanilla and soft earthy spice. The texture is warm, rounded and approachable.
