De Meye Estate is a family-owned winery, situated in Muldersvlei on the Stellenbosch Wine Route, arguably South Africa’s most prestigious winemaking region. The Myburgh family has been farming in this area for five generations. The De Meye Cabernet Franc 2021 is a very classy and elegant Cabernet Franc. Ripe red plum flavours show beautifully on the nose and are prominent on the palate as well. They are complimented by a delicate herbaceous note of dried oregano. The tannins are powdery and elegant and give the wine a wonderfully soft texture that coats the palate. The bright crisp acidity keeps the wine vibrant. A balance between depth and vibrancy, the wines concentration of fruit lingers on the palate. A true showcase of Cabernet Franc's potential, this red wine highlights the exceptional terroir and depth of flavour which can only be achieved with healthy vines and meticulous care.
