Bruce Jack (Gray, '87), grew up in Muizenberg and attended the school from Sub A. Following an Oenology degree from The University of Adelaide, he returned home and started Flagstone winery. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for excellence have led him to become an internationally acclaimed winemaker, ranked in the Top 100 winemakers in the world. He crafts award-winning wines through his own ventures, including Bruce Jack Wines, Pescaluna Wines (a JV with Gastao Fernandes, School, '87), Ghost in the Machine, Awaken the Arcade, Black Oystercatcher Wines and The Drift Estate.
In honour of Zeta Bey (1938 – 2006). Those fortunate enough to know Zeta benefited immensely from her inner strength, prescience and clam, big-picture joy.
This wine honours Zeta and many others in the Bishops family who quietly hold together the fabric of society. A cool climate, high altitude Syrah, showing crunchy red fruit and white pepper.
- Food Pairing : A natural partner to herb-crusted lamb chops, roasted duck with cranberry glaze or grilled pork tenderloin. The wine also pairs beautifully with Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, including grilled vegetables, roasted aubergine and a classic Niçoise salad.
