What does Site Specific Wine mean?
Dear Reader

There are more than 6000 different South African wines on the market. Each has its own unique character.

What factors contribute to the character of a wine?

The type of soil in which the vines are planted, the climate in the region, the changing season from year to year and of course, the skill of the winemaker.

A dedicated group of Cape Winemakers have formed the Cape Site Specific Wine Association devoted to producing wines that reflect the character of the sites on which the grapes were grown. Grapes used in site specific wines must have come from single vineyards, estates or wards.

We have partnered up with the Association to bring you these Site Specific Packs. They are a great way to taste and compare one site to the next.

Kind Regards,
Colin Collard
