Waterford Estate is situated in the Blaauwklippen Valley on the slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, where warm daytime conditions are moderated by cooling ocean influences from False Bay. This combination allows Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen fully while retaining structure and freshness. Waterford is known for producing refined, age-worthy wines with a strong sense of place, favouring balance and detail over excess. Careful vineyard selection, measured oak maturation and a classical winemaking approach help shape reds of polish, depth and longevity.

Deep ruby red with a dark garnet core.
Nose:
Blackcurrant, cassis and dark plum aromas lead, followed by cedar, graphite, dried herbs, tobacco leaf and subtle spice.
Palate:
Full-bodied yet composed, with concentrated dark fruit supported by firm but fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity gives lift and precision, while notes of cedar, cocoa and savoury herbs add complexity. The texture is structured rather than heavy, showing classic Cabernet shape and restraint.
Finish:
Long and persistent, finishing with cassis, pencil shavings and gentle oak spice.
