Tamdhu Distillery, on the banks of the River Spey, was founded in the late 19th century and has built a reputation around whisky matured exclusively in fine Oloroso sherry oak casks sourced from Jerez, Spain. This commitment to sherry cask maturation gives its core range a rich fruit and spice character that’s both classic and distinctive among Speyside single malts. The 15-year expression showcases this house style with extra depth from extended ageing in both American and European oak sherry casks, balancing sweetness, dried fruit richness and integrated oak spice.
Colour: Deep amber with golden highlights - a sign of full sherry cask influence.
Nose: Aromas of apple pastry, spiced currants and orange zest mingle with gentle vanilla, toasted oak and warm sherry sweetness.
Palate: A vibrant mid-palate brings juicy apricot and ripe raspberry, lemon tart and creamy almonds, all woven through with honeyed malt and integrated Oloroso spice.
Finish: Rewardingly long and warming, moving through malt biscuit, cream sherry richness and a lingering vanilla-oak sweetness.
