Rietvallei Wine Estate is one of South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine farms, established in 1864 and still run by the Burger family today. Situated along Route 62 in the Robertson Wine Valley, the estate benefits from warm days and cooling night temperatures that help preserve natural acidity while allowing full flavour development.
The vineyards sit on limestone-rich soils typical of the valley, contributing to freshness and structure in the wines. Rietvallei’s winemaking philosophy is grounded in tradition, with a focus on expressing honest varietal character rather than following trends. This Sauvignon Blanc is made with minimal intervention and no oak influence, allowing the fruit and terroir to take centre stage.

Nose:
Bright and aromatic, showing passion fruit, grapefruit and lime, supported by fresh green notes of cut grass, fig leaf and a hint of capsicum.
Palate:
Crisp and refreshing on entry, with lively citrus flavours and a subtle tropical edge. The acidity is energetic but well integrated, giving the wine drive and clarity without sharpness.
Finish:
