Cez White Blend 2023
Blend : White
Description
Cez forms part of the Ernst Gouws & Co portfolio, a family-run Stellenbosch producer with deep roots in the Cape wine industry. While based in Stellenbosch, the range draws on fruit from across the Western Cape - a region known for its diversity of soils and climates, allowing winemakers to shape balanced, expressive blends.
The Cez label is a tribute to the women of the Gouws family, combining heritage with a forward-looking approach. In the cellar, the focus is on clarity and drinkability: stainless steel fermentation preserves the natural aromatics of Chenin Blanc and Sémillon, while avoiding oak keeps the style bright, clean, and fruit led. The result is a wine designed for everyday enjoyment without losing a sense of place.
Colour:
Pale green-gold with a bright, youthful sheen.
Nose:
Cling peach and pineapple lead, followed by ripe apple and a lift of lemon zest. A subtle waxy note adds a layer of complexity.
Palate:
Juicy and fruit-forward, showing peach, apple and tropical hints. The texture is smooth and rounded, with a gentle thread of acidity keeping the wine fresh rather than sharp. There’s a soft, slightly waxy undertone typical of the blend, adding interest without weight.
Finish:
Clean and approachable, with lingering orchard fruit and a lightly dry, refreshing close.

Cez White Blend 2023
- Food Pairing : The Cez White Blend 2023 is an easy partner for fresh, flavourful dishes. Its juicy fruit and moderate acidity work well with seafood like prawns, calamari, or oysters, where the wine mirrors the natural sweetness of the dish. It also pairs comfortably with chicken salads, light pasta dishes, or creamy cheeses, as the freshness cuts through richness without overpowering it. For something local, try it with a Cape Malay-style curry - the fruit softens gentle spice while keeping the palate refreshed.
