Annandale Wines is one of the oldest farms in the Helderberg area of Stellenbosch, with a winemaking history dating back to the late 1600s. The vineyards sit on the slopes of the Helderberg mountain, where altitude, cooling ocean breezes from False Bay, and well-drained soils contribute to steady ripening and natural balance in the grapes.
While the estate is best known for its structured reds, its whites reflect a more understated philosophy - focusing on clarity of fruit and drinkability. Chardonnay from this site benefits from the combination of warm days and cooler evenings, helping retain freshness while allowing for gentle flavour development. The style leans towards clean, approachable expressions rather than overt oak or heaviness.
