DeMorgenzon is situated on the elevated slopes of Stellenbosch, where vineyards benefit from cooling maritime influence from False Bay and decomposed granite soils that encourage natural acidity and concentration. These conditions are particularly well suited to Chenin Blanc, allowing ripe flavour development without losing freshness.
The estate is widely respected for combining careful vineyard farming with precise cellar work. For the DeMorgenzon DMZ Chenin Blanc 2025, grapes were harvested in the cool of morning, fermented spontaneously in stainless steel and older French oak, then matured on fine lees before bottling. This approach preserves fruit clarity while adding texture and subtle complexity.
