While home is the Franschhoek Valley, La Motte Pierneef Sauvignon Blanc is typically sourced from cooler vineyard pockets elsewhere in the Western Cape, where ocean breezes and slower ripening help to build bright acidity and clear, defined aromatics. The Pierneef range is made with food in mind: precision-picked fruit, careful handling in the cellar and, in most vintages, a small Semillon component to add texture and savoury complexity. The result is a style that blends New World clarity of fruit with a more Old-World sense of restraint and minerality.

Pale straw with a green tint, bright and clear in the glass, suggesting a young, zesty Sauvignon Blanc.

Lime, grapefruit and gooseberry lead, supported by green apple and fresh-cut herbs. Behind the primary fruit, there are hints of granadilla, wet stone and a subtle, leafy note that adds a cool, mineral edge rather than overt greenness.
