Klein Sering Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Klein Sering is a boutique estate tucked into the fertile Noordhoek Valley on the Cape Peninsula, just a short distance from the Atlantic Ocean. This proximity to the sea is central to the estate’s identity - cool ocean breezes slow ripening, helping the grapes retain vibrant acidity and aromatic precision.
The vineyards grow in mineral-rich, moisture-retentive soils, well suited to Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Winemaking here is thoughtful and hands-on, with a focus on expressing the natural character of the site rather than overworking the fruit. The result is a style that leans toward freshness and texture, with subtle complexity from lees contact adding depth without sacrificing clarity.
Colour:
Light straw with a faint green hue, bright and youthful in appearance.
Nose:
Aromatic and inviting, showing pineapple, pear and white peach, with a lift of citrus and a soft herbal note in the background.
Palate:
Fresh and fruit-forward, with flavours of tropical fruit and orchard fruit carried by crisp acidity. A slight textural richness from lees contact adds weight and roundness without losing the wine’s clean, coastal freshness.
Finish:
Clean and refreshing, with lingering citrus and subtle tropical notes.
- Food Pairing : Klein Sering Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is a natural partner for fresh, flavour-led dishes. It works particularly well with grilled fish or calamari, where the wine’s acidity lifts the richness and complements the oceanic flavours. A chicken salad with avocado or a classic Greek salad echoes the wine’s freshness and fruit profile, while creamy goat’s cheese brings out its subtle texture. It can also handle lightly spiced dishes like Thai green curry, where its crispness keeps the palate balanced and refreshed.
