Cape Point Vineyards Noorhoek Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Sauvignon Blanc
Description
Cape Point Vineyards sits in Noordhoek, a cool, windswept corner of the Cape Peninsula where vines look out over the Atlantic. This coastal setting, with constant sea breezes, foggy mornings and slow ripening, is ideal for Sauvignon Blanc that keeps its natural acidity and saline edge. The vineyards are planted on decomposed granite and sandstone soils that help give tension and line to the wines, rather than weight alone. In the cellar, the team favours a measured, modern approach: clean, precise winemaking with some lees work for texture, aiming for a style that balances Cape ripeness with the focus and restraint you might expect from classic cool-climate regions.
Colour:
Pale lemon with a slight green tinge, bright and clear in the glass.
Nose:
Fresh notes of lime, gooseberry and green apple lead, supported by passion fruit, grapefruit zest and hints of cut grass, sea spray and wet stone.
Palate:
Light to medium bodied, with zesty citrus and crunchy green fruit at the core. The acidity is crisp and refreshing, giving a linear, mouth-watering feel, while subtle tropical tones and a touch of herbal complexity round things out. A gentle chalky texture from time on lees adds interest without softening the freshness.
Finish:
Medium in length, dry and clean, with lingering lime, grapefruit and a subtle salty, mineral edge.

Cape Point Vineyards Noorhoek Sauvignon Blanc 2023
- Food Pairing : Cape Point Vineyards Noordhoek Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is made for fresh, coastal food. Its bright acidity and citrus character are ideal with West Coast mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce, where the wine cuts through the cream and echoes the salinity. It suits grilled linefish or kingklip with lemon and herbs, as well as classic hake and chips where the crispness keeps everything lively. For something lighter, try a goat’s cheese and rocket salad or sushi platters – the zingy fruit and clean, dry finish work well with both creamy cheeses and soy-based flavours.
