Delheim Estate, located on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch, is one of South Africa’s most historic family-owned wineries. The Sperling family has been instrumental in shaping the Cape wine industry, and Delheim remains one of the few local producers committed to Gewürztraminer - a variety with deep roots on the farm dating back to the 1960s.
The vineyards sit at altitude on decomposed granite soils, where cooling breezes help retain freshness in this naturally aromatic grape. In the cellar, the approach is deliberately simple: cool fermentation and maturation in stainless steel, with only free-run juice used. This preserves the grape’s distinctive floral and spice-driven profile while maintaining clarity and balance.

Pale straw with a bright, clear appearance.
Nose:
Highly aromatic, with pronounced notes of litchi, rose petals and Turkish delight, layered with pear, citrus blossom and a hint of spice.
Palate:
Medium-bodied with a soft, off-dry feel. Flavours of litchi, orange peel and stone fruit are supported by a touch of honeyed richness, balanced by a lively acidity that keeps the wine fresh rather than heavy.
Finish:
Lingering and gently sweet, with floral perfume, citrus zest and a subtle spice note.
