Produced by Bruce Jack Wines at The Drift Estate, Ghost in the Machine Chenin Blanc showcases a fresh, expressive interpretation of one of South Africa’s most versatile white grape varieties. The wine is made from cool-harvested grapes, which are crushed promptly and left to settle overnight before cool fermentation using clear juice. It is then kept on its fine lees until shortly before bottling. This gentle approach helps preserve the wine’s bright fruit character and lively freshness while adding a little texture and depth.

Colour: Pale straw with a youthful, bright appearance.
Nose: A fresh tropical bouquet of melon, passion fruit and kiwi, supported by lively citrus, lime and subtle green-fruit notes.
Palate: Fresh and zingy, with flavours of citrus, lime, tropical fruit and melon. The crisp acidity gives the wine energy and balance, while fine lees contact adds a touch of roundness to the palate.
Finish: Clean, refreshing and citrus-led, with a lively, mouth-watering finish

  • Food Pairing : This bright, fresh Chenin Blanc pairs beautifully with grilled hake, line fish, prawns, sushi, fresh goat’s cheese and light chicken dishes. Its crisp acidity works particularly well with seafood and creamy sauces, while the tropical and citrus flavours complement fresh herbs, lime, coriander and lightly spiced dishes.
  • Drink before: Cellaring potential: Best enjoyed young and fresh, or within the next 2–3 years under suitable cellar conditions.
