Simonsig Wine Estate, situated in Stellenbosch, has long been recognised as one of South Africa’s leading family-owned wine estates. The estate released one of the country’s earliest Chardonnays in 1978 and has built decades of experience with the variety. Stellenbosch’s Mediterranean climate, cooling maritime influence and varied soils create ideal conditions for Chardonnay, allowing ripe fruit expression alongside natural acidity.
The Cape Fox Chardonnay takes its name from the small, agile Cape fox found in the winelands. Fruit for this wine is harvested at optimal ripeness, with lees contact and a period of French oak maturation adding texture and subtle complexity. The result is a Chardonnay that balances generosity with freshness.

Bright straw gold with a youthful sheen.
Nose:
Ripe yellow apple, citrus peel and lemon lead the aromatics, followed by roasted macadamia, gentle vanilla and warm baking spice.
Palate:
Full-bodied yet composed, showing flavours of lemon, orchard fruit and subtle stone fruit. Oak ageing adds roundness and texture, while lively acidity keeps the palate focused and energetic. A faint mineral note brings freshness through the mid-palate.
Finish:
Long and polished, finishing with citrus zest, toasted nuts and soft spice.
