Deetlefs Wine Estate is situated in Rawsonville in the Breedekloof valley, where vineyards are surrounded by mountains and benefit from warm sunshine, cool evening temperatures and good airflow through the valley. These conditions help Chardonnay achieve ripe fruit flavour while maintaining natural freshness. Deetlefs is one of South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine estates, combining generations of farming experience with a practical, modern cellar approach.
The Stonecross range focuses on accessible wines with clear varietal identity and everyday appeal. This unwooded Chardonnay is crafted from multiple Chardonnay clones, with grapes harvested at different ripeness levels for added complexity. Cool fermentation and lees contact help preserve freshness while building texture through the mid-palate.

Lime, pineapple, pear, peach and apricot lead the aromatics, giving a fresh and inviting fruit profile.

Light- to medium-bodied with lively citrus freshness and flavours of pineapple, apricot and ripe pear. The palate is clean and fruit-driven, with gentle lees texture adding softness and balance.
