Christiena Chardonnay 2025 forms part of the Christiena range from Van Loveren Family Vineyards, one of South Africa's most established family-owned wine producers based in Robertson. The valley is known for limestone-rich soils, warm sunny days and cool evening conditions, an excellent combination for Chardonnay as it supports full flavour development while helping the grapes retain natural freshness. Van Loveren has built its reputation on combining generational farming knowledge with contemporary cellar practices. The Christiena label honours family heritage while offering refined, accessible wines made for modern drinkers. In Chardonnay, that often means ripe fruit purity, balanced texture and measured oak influence where used, rather than excessive richness. Colour : Bright straw gold with youthful green highlights. Nose: Ripe citrus, yellow apple and white peach lead the aromatics, followed by hints of vanilla, toasted nuts and a gentle buttery note. Palate: Medium-bodied with a rounded texture and generous stone-fruit flavours. Fresh acidity brings lift and keeps the wine focused, while subtle oak seasoning adds creaminess and spice without dominating the fruit. Finish: Clean and persistent, finishing on citrus peel, baked apple and a light savoury nuance.
