Blaauwklippen is one of the oldest wine estates in Stellenbosch, with a history dating back to 1682. Located on the foothills of the Stellenbosch mountains, the estate benefits from mineral-rich soils and cooling influences from nearby False Bay, creating conditions well suited to producing balanced, expressive wines.
The fruit for Blaauwklippen Chardonnay 2023 comes from vineyards in the Polkadraai Hills area, where decomposed granite soils help produce concentrated grapes with natural freshness. Grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed before fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine spends around eleven months maturing in barrel with regular bâtonnage, adding texture and complexity while maintaining the bright fruit character typical of Stellenbosch Chardonnay.

Bright pale gold with clear, youthful reflections.
Nose:
Aromatic notes of peach, citrus and orange blossom lead the bouquet, supported by hints of yellow flowers and subtle oak spice.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with a rich, creamy texture balanced by lively acidity. Flavours of ripe peach, citrus and mineral notes unfold across the palate, with gentle oak influence adding depth and structure.
Finish:
Smooth and lingering, with citrus freshness and a softly creamy texture carrying through the final impression.
