Zevenwacht Tin Mine White 2025
Zevenwacht Wine Estate is situated on the Stellenbosch Wine Route, where cooling maritime influences from False Bay and elevated vineyard sites help create wines with freshness, balance and character. The vineyards for the Zevenwacht Tin Mine White 2025 are predominantly located on the Polkadraai Hills, where decomposed granite soils and south- to south-west-facing slopes contribute to the wine's aromatic detail and mineral drive. Named after the historic tin mines once found on the estate, the Tin Mine range showcases a thoughtful blending philosophy inspired by the white wines of the Rhône Valley. Chenin Blanc forms the backbone of the blend, supported by Chardonnay, Roussanne, Semillon and Viognier. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels and concrete eggs, followed by extended lees ageing to build texture while preserving freshness and purity of fruit. The result is a Stellenbosch white blend that combines richness with restraint and reflects the distinctive terroir of Zevenwacht.
Colour: Bright straw gold with a subtle green hue, showing both freshness and concentration.
Nose: Aromatic layers of apricot, peach and quince lead the bouquet, followed by delicate floral notes, citrus blossom and hints of oak spice. As the wine opens, subtle nuances of pear and dried herbs emerge.
Palate: Medium-bodied and textured, with flavours of ripe stone fruit, citrus and quince supported by a gentle creaminess from lees ageing. Chardonnay adds structure, while the Chenin Blanc brings freshness and energy. The oak is well integrated, contributing complexity without dominating the fruit.
Finish: Long and refined, finishing with citrus freshness, subtle spice and a distinctly mineral note that keeps the wine focused and food-friendly.
- Food Pairing : The Zevenwacht Tin Mine White 2025 is particularly versatile at the table. Its combination of texture and freshness makes it an excellent match for grilled line fish, crayfish, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes and herb-roasted vegetables. The wine's stone-fruit character complements richer flavours, while its bright acidity and mineral finish help keep dishes feeling fresh and balanced. It is equally enjoyable with soft cheeses and seafood-based starters, where its layered aromatics can shine without overwhelming the food.
