Glen Scotia’s Double Cask Rum Finish single malt marries the historic maritime character of Campbeltown with an exotic rum-influenced finish. The spirit begins life matured in first-fill American oak (ex-bourbon) barrels before spending a final maturation period in Guyanese Demerara rum casks. This innovative approach nods to Campbeltown’s global trading past - when rum barrels were commonly handled in the port town - and brings a sweeter, fruit-forward dimension to the distillery’s coastal whisky style.
Nose: Inviting aromas of cooked sugar and molasses lead, complemented by hints of tropical fruit and maritime sea spray - think coconut, banana and peach essences woven with light oak.
Palate: Rich and exotic, the palate balances lush sweetness with tropical notes (coconut, banana, ripe peach) alongside gentle maritime spice and toasted oak.
Finish: Warming spice and lingering coastal salt carry through a finish that echoes both the rum influence and Glen Scotia’s traditional sea-spray character.
