Dollie Gin is crafted by Gin & Co in White River, Mpumalanga, and was born from a passion for contemporary South African craft spirits. The range began as a small gin venture operating from a vintage caravan in White River and has developed into a boutique collection built around distinctive botanical combinations. The Strawberry and Wild Basil Gin brings together traditional gin botanicals with ripe strawberry and wild basil. The fruit provides a delicate pink hue and gentle sweetness, while the basil brings a savoury, herbaceous freshness that keeps the strawberry character from becoming overly sweet. The result is a distinctly South African flavoured gin with a playful personality but a proper juniper backbone.
Colour: Soft blush pink with bright, clear edges in the glass.
Nose: Fresh strawberry leads the way, followed by fragrant wild basil, juniper and subtle citrus notes. There is a light floral character in the background that adds lift.
Palate: Smooth and approachable, with ripe strawberry flavours balanced by the savoury freshness of wild basil. The fruit brings gentle sweetness, while juniper provides the classic gin structure and keeps the palate refreshing rather than confectionary.
Finish: Clean and vibrant, with lingering strawberry, gentle spice and a fresh herbal note from the basil.
