Cape Saint Blaize Classic Gin 750ml

Cape Saint Blaize Artisanal Distillery is based in Mossel Bay, where the rugged coastline, indigenous fynbos and maritime climate of the Southern Cape shape the identity of its spirits. Named after the historic Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, the distillery focuses on small-batch production using hand-foraged botanicals sourced from diverse landscapes that range from coastal cliffs to mountain plateaus and ancient forests.

The Classic Gin takes a more traditional London Dry-inspired approach while still retaining a distinctly South African character. Built around a strong juniper core, the gin incorporates botanicals such as lime, elderflower, wild rosemary, honeybush and carissa berry to create a layered but balanced profile. Distillation and bottling take place at the historic Ochre Barn in Mossel Bay, with each ceramic bottle individually crafted and hand finished.

Nose:
Fresh aromas of juniper, lime zest and elderflower lead the nose, followed by fragrant rosemary, pine and subtle earthy spice.

Palate:
Full-bodied and vibrant, with classic juniper structure supported by citrus, toasted spice and herbal botanicals. Notes of honeybush, caramelised rhubarb and ripe kai apple add gentle depth and texture without overwhelming the freshness.

Finish:
Long, dry and smooth, with lingering citrus peel, pine, warm spice and savoury herbal notes.
