Crafted in Cape Town by the team at Hope Distillery, Clemengold Gin takes its identity from South Africa’s well-known ClemenGold mandarins. Unlike many citrus-led gins that rely on generic orange peel, this gin uses sun-dried ClemenGold mandarin peels to create a distinctly local expression with bright natural aromatics and soft sweetness.
Produced in a classic Cape Dry style, the gin combines citrus with botanicals including juniper, cinnamon, coriander, angelica root and almond. A combination of maceration and vapour infusion is used during distillation to preserve both freshness and aromatic detail. The result is a spirit that leans confidently into citrus while retaining enough spice and structure to remain recognisably gin.
Appearance:
Crystal clear and bright in the glass.
Nose:
Expressive aromas of mandarin peel, sweet orange and fresh citrus zest lead immediately, followed by softer notes of juniper, cinnamon and subtle floral spice.
Palate:
Smooth and rounded, with juicy mandarin flavours at the forefront balanced by gentle coriander spice, almond warmth and restrained juniper character. The texture is soft and approachable, making it particularly easy drinking.
Finish:
Lingering orange peel, warming cinnamon spice and a clean citrus freshness remain on the palate.
