Blaauwklippen Wine Estate is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms, with a history dating back to the late 1600s. Alongside its long-established wine legacy, the estate has embraced craft distilling, using the same philosophy of provenance, balance and careful production. Blaauwklippen Farm Gin reflects this mindset, drawing inspiration from the natural landscape surrounding the farm.
Distilled in small batches, the gin features a classic juniper core layered with locally inspired botanicals that add depth and regional character. The approach is measured rather than experimental, aiming for clarity and harmony rather than overt intensity, resulting in a gin that feels both traditional and distinctly Cape in style.
Colour: Clear and bright, with a clean, crystalline appearance.
Nose: Fresh juniper leads, followed by citrus peel, subtle floral notes and gentle herbal nuances that hint at fynbos influence.
Palate: Dry and well structured, with juniper at the forefront supported by citrus zest and earthy, herbal undertones. The mouthfeel is smooth and composed, with botanical complexity unfolding gradually rather than all at once.
Finish: Clean and persistent, leaving a crisp juniper note with lingering citrus and soft spice.
