Saxenburg is a family-owned winery based in Stellenbosch. The Saxenburg Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a typical Polkadraai Hills Cabernet Sauvignon, showing impressive freshness, refined dark fruit, and elegance. It is sourced from a single vineyard block next to the cellar, but small additions of bush vine-grown Cabernet Franc and Malbec add layers of complexity and texture. This red wine has a bright garnet and ruby colour. The nose is layered with mulberry, prune, bramble, tobacco, mocha and fynbos notes. The entry on the palate is smooth with refined, sculpted tannins, a bright acid culminates in a dark cherry finish.
