Saxenburg is a family-owned winery based in Stellenbosch. The Family Series 2nd Generation Syrah / Shiraz 2020 has a beautifully perfumed nose, with loads of freshly cut red berries, pink peppercorn, and a hint of leather. The entry to the palate is bright, beautifully weighted, and opens to a medley of flavour, with wonderful fruit purity. The acidity is refreshing, and the tannins are fine and grippy, while the finish is long and wonderfully dry. This red wine is new take on Syrah for Saxenburg and the first ever Saxenburg bottling with a large whole bunch component.
