Nestled in the heart of the Elgin Valley, Spioenkop Wines was established in 2008 with Koen Roose as Winemaker. The Johanna Brandt Chenin Blanc 2019 is a single block Chenin from the lower, shale-based sections of the vineyard, offering a rounder, more powerful style of Chenin with distinct notes of tropical fruit and a lovely acidity. Aged for 11 months in old oak barrels, this white wine gains layers of complexity, contributing to leesy, textured notes of biscuit and lemon pith which give it a rich mouthfeel without sacrificing freshness.
