Produced by Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate near Hermanus, the Lighthouse Rosé is a cool-climate expression of Walker Bay. The estate lies close to the Atlantic Ocean, where the influence of the cold Benguela Current and persistent coastal breezes helps to slow ripening, preserve natural acidity and retain fresh fruit aromatics. The Lighthouse range is designed to offer approachable, fruit-driven wines that express the character of the estate in an easy-drinking style. The rosé is made from estate-grown Shiraz, with the vineyard parcels managed specifically to encourage freshness and delicate flavour. Early harvesting, careful fruit handling and gentle pressing help produce a pale, elegant rosé with minimal colour and tannin extraction.
Colour: Pale rose-pink.
Nose: Fragrant aromas of strawberry, watermelon, pomegranate and delicate florals, with subtle hints of candied fruit.
Palate: Fresh and lively, with juicy red fruit, watermelon and gentle floral notes. Bright acidity provides balance, while a softly creamy texture adds a little roundness and depth.
Finish: Clean, refreshing and dry, with lingering red-fruit and citrus nuances.
