Neil Ellis Way of the Flower Rosé 2025
Rose'
Description
Neil Ellis Wines is based in Stellenbosch but draws fruit from carefully chosen coastal vineyards, where cooler conditions and sea breezes help retain natural acidity and bright aromatics. Way of the Flower Rosé fits the estate’s philosophy of “site first, then variety”: vineyards are farmed for freshness and flavour definition rather than sheer ripeness, and the grapes are picked early to keep sugar moderate and preserve delicacy. In the cellar, the focus is on gentle pressing, cool fermentation and minimal oak, allowing red berry fruit, citrus and a light floral character to shine. It’s a modern Cape rosé that leans more towards dry, food-friendly elegance than sweetness, shaped by a balance of Mediterranean varieties and cool-climate influence.
Colour:
Pale salmon to onion-skin pink, bright and luminous in the glass.
Nose:
Red berries such as strawberry and raspberry lead, supported by cranberry, blood orange and hints of rose petal and dried herbs. A subtle mineral note adds lift.
Palate:
Light to medium bodied with a crisp, mouth-watering line of acidity. Fresh red berry flavours are joined by pink grapefruit and a touch of stone fruit, giving both vibrancy and gentle roundness. The texture is smooth and refreshing, with dry, clean fruit rather than sweetness, making it easy to drink while still feeling grown-up.
Finish:
Dry and refreshing, medium in length, with lingering citrus, red berry and a faint, savoury, herbal note.

Neil Ellis Way of the Flower Rosé 2025
- Food Pairing : Neil Ellis Way of the Flower Rosé 2025 is a versatile partner for relaxed, summery dishes. Its bright acidity and dry finish make it ideal with grilled linefish, prawn skewers or a seafood platter, cutting through richness and echoing coastal flavours. It works well alongside salads with feta, olives and tomato, or a simple roast chicken with lemon and herbs, where the wine’s berry and citrus notes lift the dish. For casual meals, think charcuterie boards, pizza with fresh toppings like rocket and prosciutto, or even a spicy Cape Malay curry – the cool, crisp fruit offers a refreshing contrast to gentle heat and aromatic spices.
