Marianne Rosé 2025
Marianne Wine Estate brings a distinctly French influence to the Simonsberg-Paarl wine region. Founded by the French Bordeaux-born Hubert de Boüard family, the estate combines traditional French winemaking sensibilities with the character of South African vineyards. The Simonsberg slopes benefit from mountain influences and granite-derived soils, while the warmer Paarl climate allows the grapes to reach ripe fruit expression without losing freshness. Marianne's white and rosé wines are made at the estate's boutique L'Ermitage cellar. The 2025 Rosé follows a Provence-inspired style, with Cinsault providing delicate red-fruit perfume and Grenache contributing additional fruit and texture. The result is deliberately fresh and restrained rather than heavily coloured or sweet, reflecting the estate's preference for elegant, food-friendly wines.
Colour: Very pale salmon pink with a delicate, bright appearance.
Nose: Fragrant aromas of rose petal, fresh raspberry and cranberry lead into subtle orange zest and white peach. The fruit is fresh and restrained, with a gentle floral character adding elegance.
Palate: Dry, light and finely textured, with flavours of raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry balanced by fresh acidity. Subtle citrus and peach notes add brightness, while the low residual sugar keeps the wine crisp and refreshing. There is enough texture to make it more than simply a summer aperitif, but it remains light on its feet.
Finish: Clean and lingering, with fresh red berries, citrus peel and a delicate floral note.
- Food Pairing : Marianne Rosé 2025 is an easy partner for fresh, flavourful food. Try it with grilled prawns, smoked salmon, roast chicken, summer salads with feta, or sushi and other lightly seasoned seafood. Its crisp acidity and delicate red-fruit character work particularly well with fresh dishes, while the subtle citrus and floral notes complement herbs, seafood and lighter Mediterranean-style flavours.
