Journey’s End Vineyards is situated on the south-facing slopes of the Schapenberg in Stellenbosch, just a few kilometres from False Bay. This elevated maritime site benefits from cooling sea breezes that slow ripening and help preserve natural acidity, giving the wines freshness and balance alongside ripe fruit concentration.
The estate is known for precision winemaking, sustainable farming and a strong social impact philosophy. The V Series highlights varietal expression through carefully selected estate fruit and thoughtful cellar work. The V5 Shiraz 2022 reflects the strengths of this coastal terroir, combining Stellenbosch ripeness with elegance, savoury detail and fine structure.
Colour:
Deep ruby red with a dark crimson core and youthful brightness.
Nose:
Ripe cherry, blackberry and plum aromas lead first, followed by savoury olive, wild fynbos, cracked pepper and sweet cinnamon spice.
Palate:
Layered and expressive, with dark berry fruit, black cherry and plum supported by soft powdery tannins. Fresh coastal acidity keeps the wine lively, while measured oak maturation adds texture and spice without overwhelming the fruit.
Finish:
Long and polished, finishing with black fruit, pepper spice and a subtle savoury mineral note.
