Bellevue Wine Estate is one of Stellenbosch’s long-established family farms, situated in the Bottelary Hills where rolling slopes, decomposed granite soils and cooling coastal influence create excellent conditions for structured yet expressive red wines. The ward is especially respected for Shiraz, producing fruit with ripe flavour intensity balanced by natural freshness. Bellevue combines deep Cape heritage with practical modern winemaking, focusing on wines that reflect place and variety without excess. Their Shiraz is sourced from dryland vineyards, bringing concentration, texture and authentic regional character.

Colour:
Deep ruby red with youthful purple flashes and bright clarity.

Nose:
Aromatic notes of sour cherry, raspberry and ripe plum lead the nose, followed by charcuterie, white pepper, woodsmoke and subtle mocha spice.

Palate:
Medium to full-bodied with a velvety texture, showing ripe red and dark berry fruit supported by supple tannins. Fresh acidity keeps the wine lively, while hints of spice and gentle oak add depth through the mid-palate.

Finish:
Smooth and persistent, finishing on black pepper, savoury herbs and smoky berry fruit.

  • Food Pairing : Bellevue Shiraz 2023 is an excellent partner for grilled lamb chops, venison, ostrich fillet, beef burgers or smoky braai dishes. The wine’s ripe fruit and supple tannins complement charred meats, while its freshness prevents richer dishes from feeling heavy. It also works well with pepper-crusted steak or roasted vegetables with Mediterranean herbs.
