Dornier Wine Estate sits on the slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountain in the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s most respected red wine regions. The vineyards benefit from well-drained granite and gravel soils and cooling breezes moving through the valley, conditions that allow grapes to ripen fully while retaining freshness.
Dornier’s approach blends modern precision with classic sensibility. Fruit is carefully sorted and fermented in small batches to preserve varietal character, with the wines matured in French oak to build structure and complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a style that reflects both the generosity of Stellenbosch and a restrained, thoughtful winemaking philosophy.

Nose:
Ripe plum and black cherry lead the aromatics, followed by hints of mulberry, cocoa powder and gentle spice. Subtle notes of cedar and vanilla from oak ageing add depth without dominating the fruit.
Palate:
The palate is smooth and medium- to full-bodied, with juicy dark fruit at the core. Flavours of plum, blackberry and dark chocolate are supported by soft, rounded tannins and a thread of fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. The oak integration adds a light savoury edge and structure.
Finish:
A supple, lingering finish with notes of black fruit, cocoa and a touch of spice.
